• Let your hair grow out at least 0.5-1 cm. This will guarantee the cost effective treatment.

• Gently exfoliate your skin before your appointment.

• Worried about sensitivity? Take a couple of Panadol an hour before your appointment. Needless to say, don’t go overboard but it’s not as bad as you think.

• Before and after your appointment, hold off getting that bronzed look from the sun or a tanning bed.

• The appointment lengths are an estimate. If you are scheduled for a 45 minute treatment, it does not necessarily mean it will last 45 minutes. Believe us, we want to make it as quick and painless for you as possible.

Don’t expect your skin to be perfectly normal post-wax. If you plan on sporting a swimsuit shortly after your wax, remember there may still be redness.

Wait 24 hours before:

• Applying any make-up, deodorant or moisturisers or exfoliating skin.

• Exercising, including swimming to prevent any excess sweating. Raising your body temperature may irritate those freshly plucked follicles.

• Going in the sun/sun bed as skin will increase in sensitivity.

After your wax:

• Wear cotton clothing to allow your skin to breathe.

• Don’t shave between waxes – it distorts the hair growth cycle.

• Exfoliate your skin at least three days after your wax, using gloves or a mitt. This will ensure the hair can breach the skin’s surface and avoid ingrown hairs.

• Come back for your next wax in 4-6 weeks. This is the recommended amount of time between waxes, however, it is different for everyone. Discuss with your therapist when to book your next appointment.

If it is your first time with us, your therapist will do a quick consultation with you to ensure the best results. Make sure you tell your therapist:

• The types of skin care you are using, such as retinol, vitamin A, skin lighteners, acids (glycolic, lactic, salicylic) etc.

• If you have ever had any problems with waxing in the past.

• About any allergies you may have.

• If you are shy or more comfortable with certain positions. There are no right or wrong ways, just different techniques. If you are used to something in particular, please let us know. We are here to make you feel comfortable.

Hot wax is spread thickly onto the skin and allowed to dry slightly before it is gently peeled away. This method is far less painful than most and pulls hair directly from the roots. The benefits include fewer in-grown hairs, less breakage and therefore longer re-growth periods. This wax also promotes skin hydration and is highly recommended for sensitive areas. Strip wax is recommended for thicker/less sensitive skin, like legs, arms, back, chest and shoulders. A thin layer of wax is applied to the skin and is then removed using a paper strip.

We recommend that clients come in for a wax every 4 and 6 weeks. This varies depending on the individuals hair growth cycle. To make the most of your waxing treatment it is important to maintain some sort of cycle. Hairs renew themselves in this time and having irregular waxing treatments means you have shorter hairs shooting through in between.

Our hot wax can grab hair as short as 2mm in length. Our strip wax can remove hair as short as 4mm. Everyone has a different growth cycle but we are generally able to wax areas that have been shaved two weeks earlier. However, with larger parts of the body like arms and legs, we suggest leaving it three weeks before waxing. If hair is any longer than 2cm it can increase the discomfort of the wax and cause hair breakage so it is advisable to trim before your appointment.

Every person has different pain thresholds and experience waxing differently. However most find it becomes easier with regular waxing as the hairs become thinner, lighter and sparser. Our specialised waxes and expertly trained therapists make the waxing experience as pain free as possible. Many things can influence the discomfort of a wax, including fatigue, menstrual cycle and medication. Your therapist will discuss with you at your appointment. A quick tip if you have a particularly low pain threshold, take a couple of Panadol or Nurofen tablets 30 minutes before your treatment.

Basic bikini:

You will be given the option to wear our paper knickers or your own knickers.

Extended bikini:

Same as basic but G-string knickers are recommended should you choose to wear your own.

Brazilian:

We will provide you with a paper G-string.

NB: if you choose to wear your own knickers, we cannot assume responsibility for any oil or wax spilling onto the fabric.

Our treatments should leave you with minimal discomfort because we use a very high quality wax and have highly skilled therapists. When the treatment is finished, the therapist will ensure no wax or residue has been left on the skin. Since we use hot wax, skin will not be sticky (which can happen with strip wax)

Waxing during pregnancy is very popular and our therapists are trained to ensure all parts of the body are waxed comfortably and safely. The Brazilian and extended bikini waxes are very popular treatments up to one week before the due date.

Like a female Brazilian there is the option to have as much as you like off including through the back. Our aim is to be as thorough as possible. Some guys opt to leave a strip or a triangle at the front with everything else removed, whilst most generally get all hair removed at the front. Also the majority of our clients opt for through the back to be completed as well. Your manscaper will discuss your needs with you during the consultation to ensure the best result for you. To ensure we remove all the hair, we may ask that you help stretch the skin in some of the more tricky areas.

You will be provided with a disposable pair of underwear that is partly for your comfort and modesty but mostly to help with skin stretch. The disposable underwear guarantees our wax by acting as a leverage point and allowing good skin stretching to make it as painless as possible.

We have extremely professional and experienced female waxologists or ‘manscapers’ performing our male brozilian treatments.

We would love to make it completely pain free but unfortunately there may be some ouch to the treatment. Our waxing specialists are trained to stretch the skin in such a way to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. You can also take Panadol an hour or so before the treatment if you are worried about sensitivity, but it is not as bad as you might think.

If you wish to trim beforehand, you are more than welcome to, however make sure not to trim the hair too short as this can hinder the wax gripping correctly to the hair. We would recommend trimming no shorter than a grain of rice but if in doubt, leave it to us.

Let’s talk about the big “E”. Although rare, sometimes this happens- it’s nothing we haven’t seen before so if this happens, it is nothing to be embarrassed about. Once that hot wax is applied and removed the problem soon goes.

Dermaplaning, sometimes known as epiblading, safely and effectively removes the "peach fuzz" or fine hair on the face and upper neck. Where laser hair removal and waxing are not suitable, dermaplaning can pick up what’s left. Using a sharp tool - not too unlike a scalpel is methodically brushed along the skin to cut away the unwanted hair, whilst also gently and effectively exfoliating the skin, leaving your face looking and feeling polished.

Everyone! All skin types and skin tones. Even the most sensitive skin can have dermaplaning (excluding a few contraindications, for example acne).

No, dermaplaning is totally pain free. After the treatment your skin may have some redness that should normally calm in 2 to 4 hours. The sensation you feel is a light pressure.

We recommended every 3-4 weeks to keep the canvas clear but dermaplaning can also be a one-off treatment for a special occasion.

First time sessions can take up to 1 hour and includes a full consultation and hair analysis. Returning sessions typically take 45 mins.

The most common question with a simple answer: No.

The hair follicle contains the DNA which is programmed to produce the hair type. Dermaplaning will not alter the DNA of the follicle therefore it is impossible to make the hair thicker or darker than before.

Shaving or dermaplaning simply blunts the end of the hair follicle, making it feel thicker and coarser at the top of the follicle.
